Sharing some positivity
So if you haven't gathered so far from previous posts, or if you are new here, our dad isn't exactly the most positive person. We're pretty sure he can find something to complain about in any situation. If you haven't read it yet, you should read last week's post Keeping the boss happy to understand exactly what we mean!
We have recently given him control over the Ramblings twitter account: @ramblingfather, so that he can vent through social media to give you guys some kind of idea what we have to deal with on a daily basis, and to also keep you guys entertained, of course! He always has a story, awful joke or complaint to make, so instead of us relaying it to you, why not get it straight from the main man! Currently, this is his latest tweet. Feel like you can relate? Follow him! He usually complains that things aren't made in Britain, he finally finds something that is, and it doesn't work - typical right?
Today we asked him to share some positivity with the twitter world. Quite obviously it didn't go well which we expected of course, a leopard can't change its spots. He has embraced negativity into his life. If he was one of the seven dwarfs he would definitely be Grumpy! He even sleeps with a grumpy face, now if that isn't embodying unhappiness then what is?
However once he had napped something changed gradually through the day. Much to our amazement he seemed to be happy...happy! Considering he admitted to being hungover -think he's just getting old - he was actually in a pretty good mood. He even offered to make Hannah a cup of tea and clapped his hands and said I'm happy, which of course scared us. We quickly jumped to the conclusion it was either an imposter or he's had far too many jolly pills - wine.
He even enjoyed the weather today. Peterborough has been cold and rainy all day and usually he is on form with his moaning about the weather: it's dark, damp, medieval! Not today! No, it all changed today. He actually sat down on his favourite chair - because that's what you have when you're old - and said: I quite like listening to the rain, it reminds me of the days I used to go camping in the Alps. Who are you and what have you done with our father? He actually said something nice about the awful weather. Maybe it's because it is his birthday on Saturday so he's getting excited, yes folks he's a child, you should see him on Christmas! Either way it was a cute moment, him reminiscing about his childhood.
