Fathering twin 20-somethings.
So tomorrow we turn 22! So we thought it was the best opportunity to look at what our dad has to deal with. Let's be real, it can't be easy fathering twin girls!
- Deciding what to wear on a daily basis is a pretty hard task, all women go through it. Maybe it's because we have so much choice or we are just indecisive. With our relentless fashion shows over the years, he's now fed up with hearing I don't know what to wear and tries to stay clear of us whilst we're getting ready.
- That's not a skirt, it's a belt! Trying to control what we wear on a night out is obviously at the top of most dad's lists. You have to make sure your daughters are appropriately dressed before they head out on the town. Like any girls we like to have our legs out but there always seems to be a problem with our skirt length. We don't have our bums on show or our hoohaa's so what's the problem dad?
- Threatening the boyfriends so they know who is in control is a key part of every dad's lifestyle. It's like they have a club to compete at who's done the best at scaring the boyfriends away. Having stern words and getting them drunks seems to be our dads tactics. Whoever can down a bottle of whisky first is a real man!
- Dealing with menstrual cycles has probably got to be the worst thing a father has to deal with each month. Hormones are flying all over the place, you're in pain and the person you take it out on is your dad. Mainly because he seems to think he's really funny and chooses the wrong times for his slating jokes. We of course have now learnt how to get back at him. Mention tampons and he's like hell no! Call your period Satan and he gets confused and don't get us started on the Satan poos!
- There's always going to be boy problems. Daddy has too see his little girls through arguments and break-ups, as much as he would like to break the heartbreakers face, he has to stand on the sidelines and just be on hand with chocolate and ice cream!
- Selfies are something that have become popular over the last few years and obviously we both have got on the hype with Snapchat and Instagram. Dad doesn't understand it. We sit there with our phones up at an angle fighting to fit our faces in. To be honest we would laugh to, it's pretty vain but we're girl we have an excuse. He of course is trying to get on the band wagon but trying to teach him how to selfie is ridiculous.
- Now make-up is a completely different story. He hates it. It gets on the towels, it's left every where (just in our rooms) and it takes too long. Daddy you need to remember, you see our faces every evening and morning, we wouldn't be pretty without it!
- Underwear is another subject much like periods fathers don't want anything to do with. They don't want to see your underwear, let alone wash it. Just seeing lacey pants makes him squirm!
- Heels are also a problem for our dad bless him, he's not the tallest of fellows and when one of us is 5ft 7' they tower over him at all our family do's. Not only is his mini problems an awkward situation when it comes to heels but the countless times he has tripped over them. It doesn't matter where we put them he always manages to find a way to hurt himself.
